Time out! What happened to my baby?!?

My husband got his hair cut Saturday. He came home looking obviously well groomed and ever so handsome. On this hair care run he had a side kick. J had his third hair cut since February.

She cleaned up his blonde locks and in a matter of minutes transformed my 16 month old into a 6 year old. I keep telling myself its just hair....but then I look at him again.

Signs he is growing up didnt stop with his hair. Sunday my little man earned himself his first time out. I partly blame myself as he was way over tired and too irritable to be doing anything other than snuggling. So when it came to sharing he wasn't going to have it. The time out worked...sort of. Lots of crying from him and all of my patience later we rejoined the group. This time he responded when i said no and came by me. We will keep at it.

Toddler-Proofing

The day the baby gates went up seems like yesterday. J wasn't quite mobile enough to require them, but on the move at all was enough for me to go safety nuts!

Now, my 2'6" little man is on the move in a new way...OPENING DOORS!

During my safety rampage before he could crawl, I bought a door handle lock, only one (yes I thought this would be sufficient for the many more than one doors in our house). Now it will be finding a home so we don't find Jackson in the garage.

New School Year Perspective

When your growing up, each new school year symbolized one more closer to being the big kid on campus, jr. high, high school...more independence.

Now, I look at this new school year with a new perspective. This school year my baby boy will learn to talk, to follow directions, to not ask for "up" all the time because life on his own two feet will become so much more exciting that life in my arms. My boy will start this school year as a baby still (at least to me) and come out one year closer to being a little man.

I loved every minute of this summer with my sweet one year old.

He mimics everything you do.

Has an infectious laugh.

Is infatuated by SOOO many things!

Impresses me everyday with what he knows how to do.

And already has the determination and drive that I know will one day make him a remarkable, independent man.

Happy 2013-2014 school year.

Project365

For Jackson's first year I took weekly photos documenting his growth and amazing transformation from a new born to a little boy!

Now for his second year I have tried a new form of documentation, Project365! One photo a day. Check it out!

Snuggles

Happy or sad, healthy or sick.  Snuggles are sacred, I'll take what I can get.

Taste buds & Toys

When Jackson loves what he is eating he shovels food in his mouth with two hands! Until very recently J has devoured basically everything I put in front of him. Now Mr. One-Year-Old is a little picky. I tried a few things for breakfast that failed before a win, then at lunch I was less likely to surrender a great meal. Annie's white cheddar shells & chicken, delicious right? J wanted nothing to do with it. Soooo we mixed it all into 365 Berry applesauce. Interesting combo your thinking...DEVOURED!

Excited it didn't rain all day, we went to the park. I've been waiting for the day that J didn't want to ride in the stroller...happy it came while I was still home for summer.

He insisted on bringing his sand truck.
16 minutes late we didn't even make it half a block!!

We eventually made it to the park!

My Aunt had dropped off a box from their new washing machine. Fun times to come!
